How to create synergies between UN, research and private sector initiatives in Africa, March 21st, 2019 in Copenhagen from 1 pm – 3.30 pm

Partnering with UNEP DTU.

The UNEP DTU Partnership is established by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UN Environment and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The UNEP DTU Partnership is actively engaged in implementing UN Environment’s Climate Change Strategy and Energy Programme, and, as part of the Technical University of Denmark, the Partnership carries out research as a foundation for its research-based capacity-building activities.

One of UNEP DTU Partnership’s key goals is to support establishment of well-functioning markets and business models in developing countries and emerging economies in order to promote further the transfer and uptake of climate technologies. In addition UNEP DTU Partnership supports developing countries in the development and implementation of climate actions as an integral part of national development planning and policies, thus allowing them to be more ambitious about their commitments under the UN Climate Change Convention.

This seminar shares insights on UNEP DTU Partnership’s activities in Africa and provides examples of collaboration with the private sector.
